HELLO GUYS! =)

Today was a great great day for me... after close to FIVE DAYS just sitting home doing nothing, i was sooo ready to go back to school and therefore, today was fun despite me having lectures.. I MISSED MY FRIENDS! my class... i missed them all, so it was nice to see them again and do our usual stuff like teasing, crapping, having fun etc.

They are the people that make lectures fun... They are like the colours of the rainbow that brighten up the sky for me, for without them, lectures would just be black and white, plain and boring.. yawns...

SO AFTER CHEM AND PHYSICS, i went out with angela and qiu jing to have lunch! Actually it was 10 am, but dont mind the time, we had lunch anyways after dearest cass pangseh-ed us... We wanted to eat prata but decided, nvm, lets eat lunch, and guess what, we spent 10 minutes STANDING at the whole array of food spread out for us as we didnt know what to eat.. for the first time, we encountered this.. Usually when we go out, the food will not be so visually nice so we will have no choice eliminating, BUT today was different, up to the point the auntie was pretty humoured at us.. =P

As we had lunch, we chatted about lotza stuff, really things under the sun like our friends, our class, our friend's friends and MANY others.. HAHA! i was not expecting us to sit there for two hours and chat.. In fact, i was expecting we'd run out of topics after one hour as the three of us, i think, have the same noise level and the noisemaker went home, BUT ALAS, we survived and chatted for TWO HOURS!

That wasnt the end, we bought bubble tea and walked back to school and chatted again, thus that makes a THREE HOUR lunch session.. WHEE NEW RECORD! =) Angela, Qiu Jing, I had fun today..

Sadly the fun was interrupted as I was called for chemistry remedial from 1 pm to 3 pm... Its not the thing that bothered me, rather the fact that I'm ALONE with charan without the rest of my classmates.. it made the two hours just, boring AND irritating.. actually ok lah, thank god i had izzah and charan or i would have just been bored there... haha...

OHH! and after that guess what I did... 7 rounds of the field and an hour at the GYM! hahaha... im out to torture myself after soo long not exercising... TIME TO GET FIT AND BUILD THOSE MUSCLES ZUL! Now that promos are over, yes i have lots of time to do things like that despite having others, but i'll make sure i never neglect my fitness and conditioning to enable me to become healthier and more fit! =)

also guess what I've been up to yesterday.. DRAWING! so not me, i've not drawn in perhaps, two or three years, but yesterday I just decided I wanted to do drawing.. Sooo i picked up a picture from the TODAY newspaper sports section on soccer and this is the final result...

What do u think?? OK?? hahaaa... I know the people look pretty weird but hmm, IVE BEEN DRAWING LIKE THAT SINCE PRIMARY SCHOOL! perhaps i will try to learn how to be a better person drawer soon, but apart from that, OK?? I like the goalkeeper and the net and the scenery though... HAHA! wheee... =)

HELLO GUYS!

Wokie dokie, I'm finally back from the lunch 'date' I was telling you guys about.. Haha, it all started as I was surfing this Islamic website during the fasting month of Ramadhan and I came across this website aimed at youths for them to ask questions regarding their religion and practices..Its more like a website for them to ask the questions they are shy to ask other people in person and would like to get the answer to....

So hmm, in one of the sections, there was a contest whereby they post topics relating the current trends of the malay community and all I had to do to try win a special invite to lunch with the three malay celebrities was to post my thoughts and comments and if mine was interesting and insightful enough, I'd win it! Soo yup, I commented on the question regarding globalization and guess what, I WON! =)

I got to bring along with me a friend so after some time, I decided to ask my good friend in class Haziq along.. I think I made the right choice ehh?? someone i can relate to, someone I can talk to, someone I can get along with and most importantly, someone who enjoyed this whole session!

For today, after the arrival of the three guests, they talked about current trends and perceptions of the muslim malay community regarding some issues and how it can be pretty wrong to think so at times..

The first guest was Imran abdul rahman, a national silat player for singapore who won lots of gold medals for singapore during competitions like the ASEAN and SEA games... WOW! I remember being very amazed by this guy since I was 14 as i was flipping through the newspaper reading about his achievements...Others, especially malays, make name through sports like football and others, but isnt it a wonder how Imran Abdul Rahman chose to go alongside a more traditional route and take up silat instead?? Wow, simply admirable of him I think...

As for what he talked about, he was telling us about all his achievements as well as his life story and why he chose to take up silat instead of other more well known sports like soccer.. He also stated that as an athlete, he has encountered his own fair share of setbacks and obstacles to get to where he is now, a gold-winner for many events... Hmm, I remember him telling us sometimes he has to gain 20 kg in a period of 3 months and on the contrary, sometimes he has to LOSE 10 kg in three weeks as part of his jobscope... HAHA! i see eyes popping now, but THATS SERIOUSLY the case... cool ehh??? Besides, he revealed to have to train almost 3 times a day to keep his physique as he is an athlete.. From this, it shows that u need LOTS and LOTS of discipline to become an athlete like him.. I'd better start being disciplined and go on my routines and watch what I eat if i wanna be like him.. =) But his most remembered advice was that if you wanna succeed, you have got to have the hunger and passion for something or it will never become a success... REMEMBER THIS GUYS!

NExt up was singer songwriter imran ajmain... Well, to be frank, I wasnt that a fan of him or so as compared to the other two, but hmm after his speech today I must say I was pretty impressed.. He shared with us his experience as a singer songwriter and how his dad wasnt very approving of his job at first.. His dad used to be a music start and he said its not a good way to bring food to the table, BUT imran ajmain proved to his dad that it was a decent way and that being a singer songwriter is not as bad as it seems..

His speech was about being a singer songwriter and he told us of his love for newfound talents as he loved to scout for new talents and give them chances to be recognized and appreciated for what they do best. He also told us that as a singer songwriter, he believes that it is a good thing and that we should not keep to ourselves. For example, if one is a person good at writing poems and all, imran ajmain believes that this person should not keep and compile a whole book to himself as such poems can actually be used to make music and all, cause in his words, the poems we write may seem pretty boring and useless to us, BUT it may help someone change his life and act as a lesson for him..

He also shared with us regarding his method of dealing with anger and stress, which is through blogging. As a singer songwriter, of course imran ajmain has had rumours about him, and he says that whenever he gets mad or upset over anything at all, he turns to his blog as he is a pretty expressive person. He never stops to check and edit his words like some of us to as we blog, but rather he just continues typing throughout and will then slowly edit his blog post as he feels that through this process, we practice responsibility and at the same time express what our mind really feels..

Finally was deejay Fiza-O! For her turn, this deejay shared about her experiences on air and all.. First and foremost, she helped to clear the misconception that being a radio deejay is an easy job as it is NOT true that the job of radio deejays is to go on air and just talk and then go home or go out after the session ends.. The job of a radio deejay is WAY more taxing than that and she shared with us that after her on air session, she often has to work till late nights before she can go home every day as there is lots of things she has to do.

She also shared with us her joys and problems as a radio deejay. AS a radio deejay, although she seems like the happy go lucky girl she acts as on air, she says this is not usually her true self as when u become a radio deejay, when you go on air, you have to leave your problems behind and act as if everything is ok and just please your audience. Of course, this can be pretty tough, and Fiza O also mentioned how sometimes she gets affected by emails of complains from people saying they are being tortured or so, or even worst, people wanting to end their lives due to teeny weeny details such as breaking up with their other half and so... Thus as a deejay, she has to act as a counsellor and that can be pretty tough sometime she says, and that it has made her appreciate life a lot more, knowing that she is probably lucky not to be going through such emotional turmoils...

Of all the three, I think Fiza-O opened the most and she also stated that being in this line is not easy, especially with the constant spread of rumours regarding her, like she is a party girl, she flirts constantly with boys, smoke, is a bad example and others... SHe did tell us that she felt affected sometimes, but have nowadays learnt to control herself and just ignore such stuff as she knows this is what you get by being in such a line..

However, she also stated that her job as a radio deejay is very fulfilling, espeically by the many emails and SMSes she receives from people who tell her that she rocks, or that she made their day, or that she has helped them overcome certain obstacles.. =)

For me, I got to ask them a question and I asked them why they feel the malay muslim community is not open and accepting towards jobs such as radio deejays and singer songwriter and I was told that it is basically due to the mindset of the older generation who tend to look upon this line based on what they see on Hollywood tv, which is so not true...

AS such, I think I have learnt alot today... It was a very inspiring and educational session for me, and I am glad that I won the special invite for this section.. For me, radio deejaying is something I might get myself involved in, apart from being a teacher, and as such, it was nice listening to the celebrities as they give us a peek into their personal lives...

So to conclude, lemme just blog about what I feel regarding my community... I dunno why, but I feel that our community is gaining media spotlight and is topping the charts for all the wrong reasons, such as drugs and all... We are very judgemental on others and one thing I find quite striking is that we refuse to change our mindset regarding certain issues like the field of entertainment and science. Personally I feel sad that this is happening to us, however this does not mean that we succumb to it and give up, cause I feel that we can be just as good as the others.. Learn to be more open and accepting towards new things and mindsets such as technology and entertainment and MANY OTHERS, and I am pretty sure we will be able to evolve into a better community, something I feel we are DEFINITELY capable of only if we put in the effort.. =)

Here's me and deejay Fiza O.. soo much I learnt from her today.. =) OH! and she also said that she couldnt speak proper malay for a while as she mingled around more with the other racial communities and spoke english more,but later on took up malay courses to refine her malay and LOOK WHERE SHE IS NOW! a radio deejay of a malay station and she speaks malay fluently.. hehe perhaps one day I can be like her =)

A PICTURE OF ME AND IMRAN ABDUL RAHMAN! =) URGH! the reflection and my specs IS SO IRRITATING LA! i think i look weird.. do i?? haha... Anywasy, To me, he's definitely my role model, ever since young I had wanted to meet this guy as he just is pretty different from other people to me. Well, I'm glad I got my chance today! =) He's successful, won lotza gold medals for singapore, and I sure HOPE that i can be something like him in the future.. He's humble, friendly and has many other qualities I wish I'd have too both mentally and internally... Haha, in terms of physical wise, he's goodlooking and muscular! thats just an added bonus for me to be able to use him as a motivation for me to EXERCISE myself off to make sure I become muscular and perhaps goodlooking too one day HAHA, but never mind that, the main thing is that I really hope I'd have the qualities and charisma and determination like this guy suited to be a role model... Dont u guys think soo?? =P

Just FYI, the guy at the end (your right) is imran ajmain.. didnt actually take a picture with him as he was pretty hot stuff with others, but never mind, perhaps some other time... =) Oh, and haziq is next to imran ajmain... the guy I brought along for this...

DO HAZIQ AND I LOOK ALIKE?? haha it was weird for us, as some people looked at us and asked us if we were twin brothers or brothers at least as to them, we look alike... HAHA! not one, not two said this... every single person I talked to during that seminar asked me and him the EXACT same question... when we told them we were classmates, they were amazed... hehe, funny ehh?? so do we look alike?? they also said both of us could pass of as chinese... =)

sorry for not being able to update as frequently as I used to... Currently quite busy with my Orientation 08 planning coming up, so yups, have gotta do a good job for it!

HAd a great week today, although it was lecture week, but it was made fun thanks to all MY FRIENDS who never failed to put a smile across my face.. THANKS GUYS!

So anyways, today I went swimming just to work out a little and well have some fun.. hehe it was fun! =) Its back to the books now after this week..

Had a chat with Mr Lim and he told me that I needed to buck up and that he wants me to come up with a study plan and show it to him.. its for my good!

So yeaps, Im pretty scared abt J2 life, but nvm, I shall strive on..

AND OHH! i forgot abt the sentimental 06 post i wanted to post... its ok, i shall remember to post it the next time round..

HELLO ALL!

As I'm writing this, I just wanna say... PW IS OVER!

yes, after soo many months of hard work, sweat, sleepless nights, stress, its all finally over...

So for this entry, I shall dedicate it as a tribute to PW as I look back at my PW journey

It all started off with:

PRELIMINARY IDEAS
wow this was quite tough to do, especially since I had a good mind to do the second task.. We were given two tasks, either groundbreakers or entertainment.. I remember for the first PI my WHOLE class chose groundbreakers and I was the only one who chose to do a PI on entertainment radio... Well, this kinda caused my downfall as my teacher deemed my topic a little too narrow and asked me to consider choosing groundbreakers.. So in the end I chose to do a PI on Nils Bohlin and his invention of seatbelt.. so guess what? It turned out GREAT and I'm glad to say, after sitting down with our individual PIs, my group chose to embark on my project with Nils Bohlin as our chosen groundbreaker! =)

GPP
This one was pretty easy to do.. My teacher said it was not graded as part of PW, so guess what, we just ANYHOW did this aspect of PW.. hahaha... Not really anyhow la, just we didnt really make too much effort polishing it as we were too busy concentrating on our WR...

WR
Written report, possibly the toughest and most tiring aspect of PW... for this, we had to come up with a proposal for our group project on how to showcase our groundbreaker and on our first attempt, we produced a 20 page proposal... It took 3 drafts, many consultations and LOTS of rectifying jobs later till we bid farewell to WR... It eventually increased to 37 pages! WOW! im actually impressed with our WR though I have no idea how well we did for this aspect of PW.. hehehe... Its pretty impossible to judge, reallY!

EOM
Apart from WR, this has GOT to be the worst and most irritating individual piece of assignment. for this aspect, we had to find a good article and evaluate it in terms of its usefulness, reliability and how it helped us in our project.. I didnt really know what to do for this part and I had to redo mine for a total of 3 times.. I just dont see the point in this... HAHA! especially with a word limit of 600 words!

I&R
This one was another pretty weird section. Its called INSIGHTS AND REFLECTIONS so I was kinda looking forward to it as I loved reflecting and writing down my journey thus far, but it all came crashing down when I found out the maximum number was only 5oo words.. ITS CALLED INSIGHTS AND REFLECTION FOR A REASON, and WE DIDNT GET TO DO THAT! instead we had to like... propose better solutions to what we might have done differently and not too much on what we have learnt.. some I&R that was... This one was pretty pointless too...

WHEE! i loved Op seriously.. it was fun creating the PPT slides and editing them and practicing lotza times as we presented our idea to the accessors.. I THINK ALL OF US DID WELL FOR THIS SECTION... cause, we didnt refer to our cue cards and we engaged the audience well enough.. WHEE! U GUYS ROCK! our skit and videos went well too and although our whole presentation was disrupted by the interference of the smartboard THREE times, we cant be blamed so i hope the accessors didnt penalize us for that! =) Overall, i think we deserve at least a 5 for group effectiveness hehe...

Q AND A
Questions and answer session!! Cant really prepare for this but for this aspect we were asked questions related to our project and based on what we replied, we'll be graded.. HMM! U know, the question they asked me was soo straightforward and there was absolutely NO way to elaborate so i dunno how to bag the highest score for this section with that question. They are: Do you think your target group of 5-10 years old kids will visit your blog, AND will your blog be permenant for showcase? SOO, it was a short and sweet question, as some others got more interesting questions like: Do you feel singaporeans nowadays lack AIDS awareness? with that, I certainly hope they were looking for confidence as we answered our question as I did portray a confident image as I answered my question =) Hope it went well! hehe.. my group did pretty well too!

So with that, in order of which section I enjoyed most to which section I hated most...
1) OP and Q&A!
2) PI
3) WR
4) GPP
5) I&R
6) EOM!

I would like to thank everyone who has made this journey very memorable for me, especially NY034... YINDY RENANDA LINGMING RACHEL YOU GUYS ROCK!

Its pretty weird too now that PW is over, and I must say it will be a memorable event for me in years to come, as I look back on the stressful nights, the fun I had with my classmates watching DVDs, going to the pasar malams and staying up late..

I also would like to thank our PW teacher Ms Lee for pushing us to our limits to make sure we achieve the best! Of course, sometimes I feel really stressed under her as she made me go through countless PW consultations and countless REDOs to make sure my project went well, but now I feel that we only have got her to thank. She did this ALL for us, and yes i really do feel that we all owe it to her that we performed very well for OP! =) I was really touched too when she dropped by each and every single group in 0706 before our OP exam to make a group cheer and cheer us on.. THANKS LOADS MISS LEE!!

So with this, I will have to say that I'll really cherish all the fond memories I had with everyone this year especially during our PW lessons...

Its been a great time with you all, and to PW, goodbye to you and hope we'll cross paths again... NOT! HAHA!

ITS POST NUMBER 200!!! woohoo, time for celebrations... my blog has 200 posts! woww, i've come such a long way since I last started to learn how to blog and I guess blogging has been something very beneficial to me, especially since I can express how i feel towards certain issues on my blog and let my friends catch up on my life...

Lets start with Old photos that i was SUPPOSED to put up but forgot all about it.. HAHA! Hmm, here are the photos I found of the debate where I won best speaker back in may.. =P

And here's the picture/poster which featured ME that the school used for our openhouse poster.. WHEE! it was put in MRTs around Bishan and Ang Mo Kio and other places.. cool ehh??

Hmm, lemme see, what shall I blog about today?? Lets start things off with PW! I'm glad its finally reached the ending point and we're only left with our OP, so after Thursday its BYE BYE PW!!! =) I'll miss working with my group members.... haha, cause they are all so nice and I am glad to say I think there was not one time we argued with each other at all! We worked very well together and so it has been quite a fun experience for me working with them.. yes, working with my team mates was fun, PW itself isnt!

HAHA! NY034 rocks... there's yindy, renanda, lingming, rachel and ME!! Thanks for always being soo supportive and enthusiastic no matter how irritating PW actually is... really appreciate it! LETS GO and conquer our final battle with OP! We will emerge victorious!!!

And anyways, here are the photos I took of myself to use for my group video.. look at my extremely spastic smile.. Guess which one I used?? I settled for the one at the bottom.. hehe..

NExt up, just wanna say although PW is already going to end, its not all going to be about smiles and happiness only cause that will be the last time our class 0706 will be together as a whole... Ohh well, i'll save the sentimental stuff till after PW OP is over on thursday alright???

Hello guys!!

Ookay, i went backstage so i can quietly and peacefully watch HEROES online ( I'm only at episode 12 i know im slow.. hehe ) BUT heroes is loading soooo quickly that i cannot watch it, plus the sound of the piano the person next to me is playing is loud so i cant really concentrate so here i am blogginG! =)

Woww the guy next to me plays the piano soo well cann?? He plays so gracefully and forcefully when the time calls for it, and the tune just flows so melodiously! ARGH! I'm amazed, and wowed and lotza other adjectives, cause I would LOVE to be in that person's position to be able to play the piano that well...

For me, I admire two groups of people... ONE: Those who can play the piano.. I WANNA LEARN AND BE LIKE THEM!!! And TWO: Those who can draw and do art soo well...

Using the right side of my brain has never been my forte so I admit I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to being creative and arty, SO i admire those who can do so... really! haha... and also I'm learning the piano via youtube myself, and my right brain just doesnt wanna cooperate with me =( So far i can only play that ONE rihanna song unfaithful, my only accomplishment.. haha I HOPE I WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY ONE DAY!

QIYIN BAGGED ONE SPOT FOR THE MOST IMPROVEMENT AWARD!

I'm soo happy for her, seriously... She got a borders voucher, but well I aint looking for that... She has just proven to us all that even councillors can do well in their studies.. Its often a myth or rumour that yearly councillors do badly academically, or even that the highest retainee rate always comes from council... Well, she proved them wrong, and I'm proud of her! QIYIN ROCKS! =) Hehe perhaps you can teach me how u did it.. and perhaps I too can bag an improvement award next year :) Honour roll abit too farfetched la, so i'd be better off settling for improvement award.. =) Now THAT will really boost by confidence...

Hello guyss!!! =) As im blogging here i'm at my cousin's house raya-ing hehehe... Its close to 1210 am and im now just at the computer to release the boredom I've been having lately... Usually I'll feel very excited during raya, but this time round i'm feeling very different. Its raya tomorrow but it sure doesnt feel like it... In fact, I'm experiencing the sadness of it all... perhaps its gotta do with the events happening this past month, from my cousin's death, to my uncles accident to my exam grades which I'm not quite happy about.. =S

I read the entries by Inez and Qiyin, and I got so touched and scared at the same time… Here we are, proving that we are people who CARE for each other instead of being A-grade obsessed, so I sure hope that this PROVES we have compassion and consideration for the people around us. We are not self-centred and I hope that all of us will make it through…

Hopes were high, at least for the start
E’s aside, everyone was aiming for A’s and distinctions
Looking back, I guess we put our hopes too high
Perhaps we forgot, junior college has never been a subset of secondary school

U’s and S’s showered heavily upon us for mid years
Shocked faces were seen across, but who really was to blame?

Papers too tough, or was it a case of not enough effort being put in?
Racing thoughts and minds were observed, as people sat down to reflect
Oh god, did I make the right choice?
Mistakes were unravelled, but is it too late to turn back?
Of course it is, some others say , but
Though too late it is,we never succumbed to the pressure of failure, cause
EVERYBODY WORKED HARD AS WE MOVED TO PROMOS!!!

Following this, is it justifiable if someone retains because he did not sit for three months? Efforts were put in, and I can account for that as I observed my surroundings. People studying, staying for consultations and night-study programmes, those are evidence that we are putting in the effort. I personally feel that it is not right if someone retains just because he did not do well for mid years or CA…

As time passes by, its getting nearer and nearer to the day we get our results back. Hearts are bound to break that’s for sure, but I have just one plea, I want all the COUNCILLORS, ALL 34 of THEM, and ALL MY CLASSMATES to promote up to J2.. reasons??

For the councillors, I have been through thick and thin with them since April. Though I have to acknowledge that I had a rough start with the council and that I was already wounded the moment I did not get a certain post I wanted sooo much, I have grown to accept that and move on. I’ve worked with the councillors, and be it bitter or sweet, I think that I have cherished all those moments I’ve been with them. They put in sooo much effort into helping the school, even having to sacrifice other things like family or even studies, but they really put in their best, thus I feel that we all SHOULD MOVE UP as one whole.. we are like a family knitted closely together, and it will feel very awkward if we’re missing even ONE of our counterparts.. what’s more, although I CHOOSE to believe we will all move up together, there’s always the bitter truth out there that hurts so much…

For my classmates in 0706, JUST LIKE COUNCIL, we’ve been through soo much as a whole class.. and though we kinda slacked for the mid years, I must say we did put In our best effort moving towards term 3 and 4… we redeemed ourselves, and I must say I LOVE THIS CLASS TO BITS as the people there are just such wonderful people with personalities so cool and cheerful it would be almost impossible to hate anyone in my class.. I want my class to be the way it is now, I want ALL of us to promote, for even if one of us were to retain, the class will just not be the same anymore…

I hate this feeling… really…. =S Oh god, I pray to you that you answer our prayers and help us through times like these….

And anyways, qiyin, I agree with you on ur entry. Its just ironic how we're supposed to perform the mass dance as "the highest point" for us when some of us will be at the lowest point of our lives... wow emotions will run high, and I sure am scared as friday moves in... =(

OKAY BEFORE I START, I have just got to rant about promos! seriously, the teachers are out to kill us... with hints that are nOT hints and all... grrr... so anyways, i sat for a total of 5 papers, and i have doubts about passing 3 of them... SCARY! Lemme just make an overall reflection

GP
My compo topic was "The media exists solely to entertain. What are your views?" It was pretty shallow i think, when I wrote it cause i apparently cannot work under pressure, so I think for this essay of mine, i'd be able to just get a decent pass =) BUT COMPRE! was tough... it wasnt in finding the answers, that was a piece of cake seriously, cause the teachers made it that way, but the hard thing was in paraphrasing the answers which was TOUGH!! I dunno if i can pass that, but i think it should be okay.. at least i think so! no specific complains abt this paper cause I think it was a fair paper =)

Maths
This was a pain... Before this the teachers gave us a piece of mock maths paper, and i found it easy to do and pass, which was a huge boost for my morales, and I was quite happy to hear that my teachers said that promos will be easier than that mock paper.. I had high hopes of passing it well, BUT WHEN I SAT FOR IT, it was not the case... the first few questions were relatively easy, and when i say the first few questions, its only those that are easy.. easy, BUT TRICKY! so lots of us lost marks there... then the other questions were tough, didnt manage to understand what some of them were asking, so i dunno if it will be easy for me to pass this one... I'm not placing too high hopes, but i sure hope I'd do better for this paper as compared to mid years!

Chemistry
WAS RELATIVELY OKAY! WHEEEEE... okay, i still dont know if i can pass this paper too.. like i said, anything at all can happen! im just hoping I do better than my mid years, cause I thought that this paper was easier than mid years.. =) Personally I refused to study chem after being demoralized weeks ago over my chem common test, and i just let go of it, but the fear of retaining made me pick chem back up TWO DAYS before the actual chem exam.. u can say i mugged HARD HARD HARD for this paper, as i studied wayy into the wee hours of the morning.. good to say, the paper didnt disappoint! WHEE! cause at least I could do the questions, and those i didnt know how to (quite a number) I at least tried to attempt... I HOPE I CAN PASS THIS PAPER! but even if i dont, there is a possibility, im contented cause i didnt give up and i tried my best =)

Physics
IS THE PAPER THAT GOT ME OH SO MAD! I banked in on it and IT DIDNT DO ME JUSTICE! paper three should have been relatively ok if not for the tediousness of it all, added with the kind of questions that are weird and hard to understand... PAPER TWO WAS IRRITATING cause there were so many tricky questions.. I STUDIED FOR PAPER TWO and they HAD to give such a tough paper.. oh so anyways, out of 5 questions, i know how to do 3.. guess how many marks i lost.. half the paper is gone.. WHERE IS THE LOVE? Paper one was do-able BUT its still hard, so i think i should just say bye bye to physics.. and whats the funniest thing of all? I actually studied hard and banked in on physics cause the teachers said that they set it to help us promote.. yea right, its more like they set it SOO hard to kill us..

Lit
Was tough too.. but i think i shall not comment too much as it was relatively an okay paper for me despite the really tough essay question and commentaries I had to attempt =) I should have taken Lit at H2 level seriously.. wasted!

Soo, if i were to rank the papers in order from good to bad?

In this world we live in today, the western community has had a great impact on the way we live and all... In fact, just look around us and you'll see what I mean.. High tech devices, entertainment, western culture, dressing and not to mention, something very common nowadays especially amongst teenagers, which is celebrity idolizing.

While some of us REFUSE to accept the fact that we are slowly going through the process of westernization in our country, come on, the reality is.. WE ARE, and thus something has got to be done to stop this ehh...

Celebrities seem like they have the bestest lives and give us an impression that we are missing out alot by not living such a life, but given a choice, would YOU wanna have a shot at fame and stardom if you could do so?

Well, i watched today's episode of Tyra Banks Show regarding the paparazzi, and lots of people said they'd pay and are obsessed with living the lives of celebrities, so what tyra banks did was she literally gave them the life of a celeb.. she had them go for a makeover, and then they had to go to certain places where the people there have been instructed beforehand to act like she was a celebrity and do what they would normally do...

at first it was kinda fun, people praising you and all, but this celeb-for-a-day got more than that, she encountered weird people who got too close and touchy with her, insulted and mocked her on the streets, and one even threw water on her, saying she was a bad influence to others.. haha all those were specially planned out u know,as in they acted it out but she didnt really know about it...

Then when she went to this place she was surrounded by paparazzi who trailed and just pushed and insulted her to make sure she got mad at them, which she did, and they took her pictures.. next thing u know, she walked past a magazine store, the WHOLE store was selling celeb magazines (Specially printed for this episode) regarding her drinking, taking drugs, losing it etc.

So yea... the life of a celebrity is not just all about fame and fortune and free stuff and glamour.. those are just the good stuff, but we have forgotten to look at the other side.. the side where they LOSE their privacy, its invaded without a doubt, and the fact they have to face criticisms as they also get further and further from their family members...

Now, with all these, how many of you STILL wanna become celebrities?? =) HAHA! food for thought!

Personally, I wouldnt... many at times I'm not contented with my life and all, and I feel that I'm ugly and not as buff or so as some celebrities, and i do admit I look up and admire those celebs that have the qualities I want in myself, explaining my high level of jealousy from the previous test...

Then again, I wouldnt trade my current life to step into the shoes of Brad Pitt or so.. NO! I WONT! you heard me right! =)

Today was depressing, just depressing... I dunno, I mean I studied soo hard for the Physics paper, and it turned out disasterous... I dunno, i think i'm goinna fail that paper real badly, BUT NO! i need physics... its only 43% of the paper, i've not done 57% of it, but i just felt like all hope is lost...

Right now, I fear retainment more than anything at the moment... I'm so sad that maths didnt go well, chem was not too bad but i still doubt my chances of passing, simply cause it was a tricky and tough paper.. the only reason why I said it was not too bad was cause its just better than mid years, thats all...

I banked in on physics, I need to pass TWO H2s to proceed up, so i banked in on maths and physics as compared to chem, and look what physics did to me...

I feel like there's no way I can move up, and although I will definitely TRY my upmost best for whats left of physics, and lit, and chem paper one, I must say these two weeks, I'll be living a life of doubts and mental as well as emotional turmoil... In fact, I think the wait for my promo results are WAY more stressful than the wait for my O Level results back then, I'm serious...

Haish, I got a blasting from my mum today, who told me that she didnt know what to say if I studied and failed... She wants me to transfer to a poly if I dont get promoted...

So the pain and anguish continues.....

Im back!

Promos are taking its toll on me.. im getting stressed up, and its not helping that my pimples are popping out again like nobody's business! ARGH! and guess where they usually start popping up.. MY NOSE! Weird or what.. but really, its soo red now from the previous 4 pimples that appeared back to back... haha...

Anyways, as i suffer from my promo period, its not only me thats suffering... apparently my parents too are suffering, as they watch me print endless pages of exam papers from the net as i use up lots of paper and ink.. BUT SERIOUSLY! its not as if i wanna do that.. i have to! I know, as im blogging now, i've printed close to 70 or 80 odd pages of exam papers, covered with black ink.. and thats only for one subject mind you! haha..so by the time promos end, i think my parents would have spent close to 50 dollars on ink and paper... Hmm, i really think schools, especially JCs should revert back to the old "give-and-do" method, where we pay them a large sum monthly or so, and THEY print the exam papers for us... Well, its a better method dont u think so? it definitely is time saving, not to mention cost saving too, so i can get my many years of exam papers at an easier method... I feel real guilty having to print, but then again, without the papers, i wont even make it up to J2 without trying...

As of now, i'm a murderer... cause i think i killed LOTS of trees just in order to get my exam papers... woopies, sorry! =P

One more thing.. hmm, if you were to rate the most boring household chore, what would it be??
HAHA!

I had to pluck the roots off the taugeh as my mum wanted to fry noodles.. GOSH I TELL U! thats the most b0ring job one can ever do, topped up with getting slimy hands and all.. yucks! eating taugeh is nice, well plucking the roots of it is just torture...

Second on the list, is folding clothes... GRR! i think lots of people will agree with me on that... and guess what, I HAD TO ATTEMPT BOTH TODAY!

well time passes by real fast, cause it seems just moments ago i counted 58 days, and now.. its 0 DAYS! i'm starting a new countdown soon, it'll be the number of days to END OF PROMOS! hahaaa... that i cant wait..

but as for now, GP paper is tomorrow! cant wait for it actually, cause i wanna get it over and done with! GP paper is the paper i hate sitting for, simple reason being i hate being given a time limit to writing a compo, cause i'll end up getting writers block! like seriously, it wont be my best attempt and i'll get stressed...

although that, it will be the paper i'll be most delighted to get back, cause i have a tendency to do my best at english as compared to the other papers, which will be a heartbreak to see.. HAHA! we'll see if that tradition continues this promos..

Anyways, i'm now getting myself adjusted to new songs and bands..! haha, never was there a day i though i'd end up listening to bands like Good charlotte and My chemical romance, but hmm, i'm proven wrong cause i'm listening to them as i study for promos! haha.. sometimes.. Its not the drums or so that catches me, rather its the tune and the depth of the lyrics written.. simply amazing!

Teachers Day 2007 officially ended yesterday, and what did I say in my previous blog entry about this year not being as memorable as the last few?? Well i was taken aback and now I have to eat my words, for this year's teachers day was very memorable, but for all the wrong reasons I guess..

I dont know if its just me or what, but I set a very high expectation for myself regarding this event, and personally I felt I didnt achieve the goals I set out for myself...

I got the chance to read a few people's blogs regarding this event, and well i cant really judge if this event went well due to the fact that there were mixed reviews. While some said that this was officially one of the most disappointing teachers day yet, there were others that commented that this was the best...

Which led me thinking, how do I judge how well the thing went?? Personally we planned it such that it would end early and that it would promote interaction between teachers and students.. SOme said we did a great job and there were lots of interaction, but others just thought it was so boring and the items were so short.

I reflect back when we were discussing about this issue. I knew there was absolutely NO way we would please the students, if we set lots of items, some will complain that its too lengthy and that they wanna go back for teachers day at their secondary schools, but when we set short ones, they complain its not worth their time coming to school.. well, this shows no matter how hard u try, you cannot please everybody..

Relating to a fellow councillors blog, I totally agree with what he/she had to say regarding the event. It might seem like some typical boring event, but what HURTS big time is the preparation beforehand, all the blood, sweat, sleepless nights, fears, pain, and the nice part is only WE know how it feels like whilst we have to actually endure the criticism people throw at us...

Who knew I had to stay back late on wednesday and thursday up till 11 pm doing the final preparations as I finished up my logistics part for teachers day, in turn making me reach home at 1 am for both nights?

Who knew I had to forgo my homework and EOM till i didnt sleep for two WHOLE days just to complete my work after reaching home in the wee hours of the morning?

Who knew I had to forgo my studies to complete my part for teachers day, so while other friends of mine stay in school to night study and all, i stay in school for council work?

Who knew I was down with tremendous pressure all these while, putting up with the behaviours of certain people who take my work for granted, topped up with all the work I have to redo due to my council IC and teacher giving it back to me?

Forgive me, i'm not trying to complain here, but my point is, who knew I had to endure ALL these as i juggled my council job with my academics, not mentioning that promos are round the corner... I worked so hard, and I think it is all just pointless as nobody actually appreciates all the hard work we put in..

Time and again, i keep asking myself, why did I make this decision? It has been a decision I made back in secondary school, and it continued into my JC term.. I had such sweet memories back in BP council, so despite the fact that we were treated so miserably by the population, i didnt really seem to mind cause I had these people who stood by me as I went through this period...

In fact, once upon a time, I actually promised myself not to join council, but look where I am now.. People have mistaken me for power hungry, but so be it. Thats not the reason why I joined council, i wanted to groom myself and take on the challenges in my way, to prove to people that just like them I too could succeed...

However, no i dont regret this decision, and you have my word i'll do all it takes to bring the 30th soaring up, despite the fact i am only a humble member of the 30th!

YEs, teachers day 2007 will be a memorable one for me, for this was the event that made me stressed up, the event which stretched me beyond my elasticity, and most of all, the event which made me cry.

Just FYI, to those of you still wondering, i actually broke down for the first time throughout my WHOLE life as a councillor.. It all happened during our AAR, and as we looked back, and it was my turn to speak, I proceeded to tell the others of what I felt and my brutally honest opinions. But then the pressure was too great. All these pressure I have been feeling I let go, mounted up with the feeling of anger and sadness I felt within myself. I thought I was unfairly treated sometimes, but most of all, I thought I failed...So yea, as I addressed the council, I just broke down, and I could not even finish what I set out to address the council...

Well, this is a new experience to me, but nonetheless, I am thankful for those people that cheered me on and comforted me as I was in that state where I felt I was a complete failure..

So thanks a million SYIMAH, LOSHINI, PINRU, HUEI MINN, CHAN DI, NINA, INEZ, CHU YI, WEINI, MY CLASSMATES, and the rest, for being with me throughout this whole period and comforting me, for listening to me when I had things to let out, but most importantly, spurring me on to succeed...

I'm updating agaiN! haha... =) School went pretty well today,except for the fact that I hardly had any sleep last night... slept close to 3 am and today in class I was just trying my best to keep awake for some of the lessons, ESPECIALLY MATHS! hmm, not that it was boring or so, just I felt REAL sleepy during this period of time..

Okay, got back my maths paper today... i passed, and despite it being just a pass, its a very low pass, i dunno whether to be happy or to be sad... Why should I be happy? Cause I PASSED! its rare I pass something iN Jc heh... why should I be sad?? cause my friends are all so much better off as compared to me...

Hmm, either way, i guess its a win-win situation for me cause now i'm in the mood to do maths.. printed out two promo papers for me to try... HAHA! =)

Oh, and by the way, promo is 27 DAYS AWAY! remember that, 27 days away.. so lets stop slacking, and get our brain juices flowing... its better to suffer now than to realize you're goinna get retained... AAHH! no i dont wanna be retained, i'm just clueless whenever I think about this issue... Its no longer like primary or secondary school where you know that however badly you do, there's always some means of pushing you up, unless of course, you REALLY did very badly..

Sadly thats not the case anymore for JC... you fail, you repeat... its as simple as that...

It is times like this i wished I were in a poly... =P

Anyways, these few weeks we've been focusing alot on our career plans... So let me just share my ambition with you guys.. for me, if I were given the chance to do whatever I want, i'd choose between being:

1) A teacher.. but not those lecturers or so.. man will life be so stressful and miserable if i were to be a lecturer.. your life will be filled with consultations and answering the queries of students haha... For me, i wanna be a normal school teacher, be it primary or secondary school teacher.. I just love working with kids, they are sooo fun to work with therefore I think i wanna be a primary school teacher teaching maths or english.. =) It'll be fuN! haha, besides I enjoyed my past experience teaching maths as well as reading to weaker primary school students so perhaps thats what I will be in the future??? Haha, anyone has any other job to recommend to me involving kids?? hmmm, being a camp facilitator will be kinda fun too! =)

2) A radio deejay... I think LOTS of people know I love this field, and in fact if i were in a poly, i'd definitely go for Mass Comm, no questions asked... This passion started way back when I was in secondary two, and ironically enough that point of time my parents banned me from using the computer as a form of punishment, so i decided to listen to the radio... i could do without the computer! haha, honestly before this, i have NEVER switched on the radio, so you can say it was a form of desperation to get me any electronic device I could get my hands on to... I remembered that point of time, I listened in to Say it with music with jamie yeo... wow i miss her on-air persona... Listened to her show for quite a while before she quitted to join ESPN, then I started listening to Young for Say it with music, but was more inclined to listen to carrie chong in the afternoon as I happened to be more free in the afternoon as compared to evening at that point of time. But of all the three i think Carrie chong created the most impact on me, and I really related to her alot, as I emailed and also called in to her show just to chat with her... she recognizes me btw! HAHA! but its soo sad la that she has quitted radio to do something else I have yet to find out what, since May this year... I miss carrie chong on radio, seriouslY!

Oooookay, i think i diverted farrrr off my topic, but never mind... haha, i still have the picture I took with carrie chonG! HAHA! posted it quite a number of times on my blog, but sadly im in school now so i cant post it here.. =(

I got a chance to deejay last year with Shan as we cohosted the UK top 40 together somewhere in july, so i guess i've got some experience and am willing to continue this experience...

So in conclusion, i dont mind being a teacher or a deejay! =)

Oookay, thats all for now... more to come from me in the future! As i said many things have been flooding my mindset nowadays hehe...

At this time of the year, its always the same thing for me, planning teachers day... Well, its not something new to me at least, i've been doing this since sec 2 i must say i am now a pro when it comes to teachers day...

haha, however somehow this year's teachers day is a little bit awkward, i'm working with a totally different batch of people...

For this year im in charge of a committee, the logistics committee, and im very happy with the performance of this committee of mine so far.. its never been a case where they failed me and never done their designated duties, so im grateful to them for that... and also, i think i had fun working with these people.. =)

I miss the times where I worked with my previous batch of seniors and councillors, spending late nights (almost up to 11 PM) just to do some last minute preparations and move the tables and benches for the classes for Food delight..

I miss the times where I stayed up to do the teachers day video, something I enjoyed doing alot... Now i do stay up late too, but its not cause of that, its cause of the paperwork and protocols and more admin stuff...

Hmm, if i were to look back perhaps my MOST memorable teachers day planning was when I was back in sec 2.. I remember staying up late with my seniors to help out my fellow JE for welfare at that time, Safiyah, and her EXCO haikel... I remember working with adeel and his gang to help us shift the tables, and one funny incident was when he called his sister and addressed himself as 'adik' Yea he is the younger brother, but he is SO very tall no one will look down on him... =P I also remember following that i followed safiyah and adeel to NTUC to search for some stuff at fairprice and how we found it hilarious that adeel knew the specific directions to where the stuff we wanted were at.

And one memory i simply cannot forget was the time I almost broke down thanks to my teacher pressing me for the teachers day video when I told him I had to pass my duties to another member as I was a councillor.. Yes at that point of time, my duties as a councillor and as a member of a certain CCA actually clashed, and there was this point of time my teacher almost made me choose between council and that CCA, but thankfully I didnt have to choose...

Yes I struggled my way up as a councillor back in BP, but now looking back, apart from my classmates it is council that I remember most about my secondary school life...

however now i keep asking myself, Will council be the thing I remember about my JC life after I graduate?? we'll see...

Right now just as i am about to call it a day and switch off my computer and sleep, im given another task to do... great, just great... Hmmmm, sometimes the feeling is just bad when you put in LOTS of hard work in a piece of job and the other party doesnt recognize it.. whats worst, your piece of work just gets edited and when it gets back to you, its as if you've seen it for the first time..

Ookay, now back to more cheerful stuff, Its been quite a while since I last blogged and there are quite a number of things on my mind for me to say out lately.. HAHA! I'll speak my mind of one topic though...Here goes:

that day I watched “The Arena” and the motion was quite interesting… It was “Hey goodlooking! Do good looks determine one’s success in today’s context?”

Well, lets all take it from a realistic point of view… Personally, I feel that good looks DOES determine one’s success in today’s context. Just mention anything at all, from life partners, to job interviews, and you will know that the first impression one gets is from your looks, so if you have good looks, most likely you will be able to score in this section.

Hence I find it quite pointless having a debate on this, cause being the humans we are, looks does play an important part of who we all are. Isnt it right? Haha, cause well, if it wasn’t true in the first place, we all wont be spending time and money trying to find the perfect image of ourselves to portray to others…

If I remembered correctly, it was a very heated debate and it ended off with the proposition winning the debate.. their points? Good looks DOES play a huge role in today’s society, judging on a number of points, with soccer being the main example they pointed out… For example, players like Ronaldinho are so better than David Beckham in terms of soccer, they claim, but David Beckham gets more endorsement deals and all due to the fact he’s more goodlooking.. Therefore in the world of soccer, your skills aren’t really a good measure of how much you earn. Just because you are a good player doesn’t mean you earn more…

Yea relatively true I guess, so I guess that sums it all up, good looks ARE indeed important… You can have a GREAT personality, but if you don’t have the looks, you might not be able to succeed in today’s society…

Well, at least that was the conclusion to some others, so what about you guys? Do YOU believe in this notion??? Hahaa…

Tough one ehh? Ask yourself, if you could choose ONLY between good looks and intelligence, which one would you go for? That might give you a hint so as to how high you value beauty =)

Yawns.. Its 108 am, and I'm just done with PW! FINALLY my second draft is over... oh well, I can go to sleep now.. heh, I've survived close to 40 hours without sleep yet again, with an exception of a short 1 hour nap I had before I went to school...

I think school's getting tougher, really... I've never been in this situation before, a situation where I feel like giving up and all hope's diminished.. Sometimes I just cant help but fear the worst happening... I don't wanna retain, but the way they make it sound, its as if retaining was the easiest thing in the whole world..

Its abt 35 days left, 35 days left to study, 35 days left to torture, 35 days left before I seal my fate... To all those out there, LETS ALL STRIVE ON! get this over and done with, and we will ALL promote together...

despite all those trying to coax myself, the fear is still there, lurking within me..

I love it how my printer runs out of black ink everytime I have to print something out for my PW... first it ran out of BLACK ink when I hadda print out my GPP, then now it runs out of BLACK ink when i have to print out my EOM... coincidence?? Its 704 pm! And im finally blogging haha... This week has been a busy week.. well whats new anyway?? And just for your info, im currenly on this EXCHANGE project with indonesian students so they came all the way from indonesia to experience singapore JC life with NYJC... Basically they are all 15 or 16 year olds but mind you, they look so matured that they look way older than us,perhaps they look like 18 or 19 year olds? Haha, and they couldnt believe we were in J1 as we were quite small as compared to them!

So yup, tomorrow will be their first day in NYJC and it will be a three day journey for them, a journey which will end on Wednesday. Hmm, they will be celebrating national day with us too, so lets see how it all goes! I cant wait for tomorrow...

Even in the midst of excitement I sometimes cant help but feel disappointed with the attitudes of a few of my fellow friends. F-R-I-E-N-D-S-H-I-P is something built through the years and it takes a whole lot of time to built it, but to shatter that strong pillar built over the years for something sooo trivial and small that wont even last, its just silly i think... Hopefully someone will be able to knock some sense into them...

And ok enough on that, moving on, teachers day planning is getting tougher and tougher. With the frequency of meetings increasing together with the additional pressure and expectations we have to meet, its becoming one roller coaster ride too tough to handle.

Whats more promos are round the corners, and I am so scared I will retain... seriously, retaining is the LAST thing i'd ever wanna do, but i just cant help but feel that fear emerging within me... With hardly any time to study, all is concentrated on finishing up tutorials and completing council stuff, how am I goinna SCORE for my promos??

Well thats what I always tell myself and I will try my best to uphold to what I said just now, but then again, things are different. You're no longer who u used to be in the past. How in the world are you going to compare the past you and the present you, ZUL??

I dont know why some people are just soo competitive... there are times where I agree competition is needed to help us achieve the best and all, but in times like this, its just uncalled for and necessary... Its been one week since I last updated! i think i shall update weekly, its quite hard to find time nowadays...and people, PLEASE TAG! =) having a blog is noo fun without u guys haha! awww sooo sweet of me ehh.. :P Anyways, event of the week! PJC COUNCIL INVESTITURE! =)

By far one of the most memorable events by far, I was truly honoured to be able to turn up for this event and see my fellow ex-SCAPpers and seniors again, stepping up and stepping down respectively. It certainly did bring back many fond memories whilst I was still a PAE student in PJC, having fun with my friends, SCAPpers as well as senior councillors.... I truly miss those times, and sometimes part of me wishes that it has not ended, but well its time for me to move on... The pictures above are pictures of those pioneers I have been really close to as a PAE member, as well as those who helped me through alot alot... There are many more, just I didnt have a chance to take a picture with them heh... Don't worry, u guys arent forgotten!

Okay im beginning to sound like a durian critic, but honestly, I LOVE DURIANS TO BITS! Its no wonder they are labelled the king of fruits, but then again, why do some people hate them soo much? I just dont understand... hmmmmm....

Tsk tsk.. Since I failed my NAPFA i have to go for more strenuous PE lessons... haha, now thats what i call TOUGH PE! bring it on... but still nothing can beat the tough PE i had at PJC.. =)

I failed my standing broad jump as well as pull ups.. standing broad jump? how to pass? I NEED TO GROW TALLER, something which i think is a little bit tough for me at the moment... I need to jump 10 cm more, sadly =(

For pull ups, a grat difference from my previous ZERO, i finally did one =) but then, the target is 5.. the teachers told us we have to pull 3 sets of 5 on alternate days, and if possible run three or four times a week for fitness overall... hmm, i guess my time's goinna be spent at the gym.. HAHA! YAY, time to achieve my desired body physique and fitness!!!

But what the teachers said is true i think, its better to suffer now for a while, pass NAPFA next year with a silver and go into NS Basic Military Training for three months, rather than fail it and go for 5 months BMT...

WHAT?? TWO EXTRA MONTHS OF BMT?? just the thought of it sends shivers down my spine, back up with all those horror stories I heard abt tormental BMTs during army... i'd rather train now.. hands down man! =)

AND guess, what sport I have to pick up now for PE??? SOCCER!!! hmmmmmmm......... HAHAHA... i find it rather funny, but nontheless, i'll try my best.. to think i detested soccer back during my secondary school days, and now i have to pick it up...

How do u think i'd fare for my trainings (Pull ups and run) as well as soccer??? =)

Oh, and anyways, chem results was a smack right in my face, a painful one....

Woohoo, this video was entertaining! haha, notice i've been adding one video per post lately.. its to make up for my lack of words, noo not that i dont wanna blog or have no ideas, just that its the exams and i can't use up too much time blogging! had chem today... paper one was relatively okay, and paper two, i already lost 20/60 marks... though i must say its very disappointing, i already prepared myself for it, so i think I should be happy enough if i manage to pass the paper... haha, cause i didnt take chem back in three months and its my first attempt.. LIT TOMORROW!

and he still can't get over his disappointment for the maths paper... simply speechless, beyond description.....

So, with there less than 2 hours 30 minutes left to a new term, a new semester and a new school day, i hereby declare the June holidays have officially ended... For a start, TOMORROW IS THE START OF THE EXAMS! and what a better way to start the new term and semester with maths paper... YIPPIE! hehe, no sarcasm intended.. cause im so happy its maths and not chemistry or physics.. hehe, cause i love maths! i studied for it, but i am not confident of scoring... hehe hopefully I wont be typing "I HATE MATHS" on my blog or so :P Tuesday's chemistry, wednesday is lit and thursday, its physics...

Not to mention the start of a new school term and semester means... the start of my stressful council term again...

Okay, so lets look back at my June Holidays... Ironically, though I'm already in JC1, this has been the BEST and most RELAXING june holidays i've had in 5 years including 2003... Well, for one, no homework to do... All I had to do was study study study, and that beats doing tons of homework that could last you almost two weeks of your whole holiday... And also, i only study 5 subjects, unlike secondary school where I had to juggle 9.. Finally, I didnt have any cca or council to worry about, like i used to in secondary school, I left council at school where it was supposed to be and I simply enjoyed my whole holidays... great isnt it?? =) Here's what I did during the June holidays (the significant ones)

26th May

MIDSUMMERS NIGHT DREAM! that was a blast, and I enjoyed the play aloT! 12 dollars was worth it, and I will go again given the chance... It was a nice and interactive show, and I went with my cousins! hehehe... It was a picnic by the park concert so we all had food as we watched the play.. simply the best!

First saturday of holidays:

Went out for dinner at Vivocity.. It was supposed to the the juniors treating the senior councillors.. Though we had fun, the bill amounted up to 553 dollars (WE HAD 20 SENIORS!) and us juniors had to pay 45 dollars each... Thankfully the seniors helped us by paying 10 dollars... hehe!

Mum's birthdaY! We bought her a 'sofa' jewellery box and my dad treated her to dinner and Woodlands Road... yummy! food there was delicious! i especially loved the crab noobles! Dad treated us too cause the next day was their wedding anniversary! wheee...

8th June

Went wakeboarding as part of my school's PE enrichment... and nowww, I CAN FINALLY WAKEBOARD as an ameteur at least... thats great, i've always wanted to learn wakeboarding and now, I have done it! would like to go wakeboarding again sometime... hehe...

Also, that was the day i WON A MOTOROLA HANDPHONE! =) its a slve L72 slim phone! Had to prank call my friend and i did it, so i won it... thanks muttons in the morning!

HOLIDAY! went to malacca for a one day trip... though I was sick on that day with a flu and fever, i did enjoy myself with my cousins and all... We went to Mahkota Parade, two other shopping malls, had a hi-tea buffet lunch at the mahkota hotel followed by a trip to the snack factory where we got malay snacks for such a low price! a day i enjoyed alot....

Dad's birthday! Brought us out for dinner and woodlands road again! only difference was we had a different variety of food.. haha! and also I bought penguin quilts and a small penguin water pilloW!

16 June

Again dad brought us out for shopping, this time it was just a normal one at Jurong's IMM... wow it was so new i couldnt recognize it, cause last time I went there was two years ago... Bought my most wanted PC game, WARLORDS 4! =)

Bet u guys never knew I loved playing such games! a new found discovery... Im a murderer... muahaha!

went for a soccer game with my cousins at the cage... Uhuh i cant really play soccer, and in fact I think I was the worst of the lot till my cousins kinda teased me, but never mind, its time I tried playing anyway ehh... if i keep avoiding it, till when will I not learn the sport at all?? I think... I'm suited for defender posts... :) Hehe, my cousin made me the goalkeeper once and I became sooo panicked and almost made a joke out of myself then... never ask me to become the goalkeeper! :P

23rd June

My uncle had free tickets to a chalet at downtown east, so i visited, and in the process, WENT TO WILD WILD WET! It was fun fun, though not as I expected it to be, but never mind.. i did enjoy myself,especially at the Ooh-La-La slide and the Samsung Slide... that was simply heart pounding... The samsung slide was sooo steep the moment u fell it feels as if u were committing suicide with your heart just sinking and that undeniably wobbly "Butterflies in my stomach" effect... I took it three times though... Haha! Its weird, some rides are meant to be scary, but I just took them as if they were the most normal things I did daily... hmm, maybe I am a weird person after all! :p Its described as plunging four storeys down, so this is a must ride when you go to Wild Wild wet! =)

Yeaa thats all, and as u guys can see, I think you can agree its one of my best june holidays ever... hehe! Dont worry, I did manage to put in studying time in the midst of all that.... I'm okay for maths and physics, though I think I'm really goinna fail for chemistry... I feel really uneasy with chem, but hmm, lets see how things go!

THIS IS A MUST WATCH! im rooting for benjamin now... he brought this song real well man! =) I dont really know lots of chinese songs but after watching it, I loved this song so much! I'm now trying to listen to chinese songs to see if there's any song like this which is super nice... haha guys, recommendations??? Also, i HOPE someone can translate the above song for me... all i know is that the title is called truth = Tried searching on the net but found none... HAHA!

One more chinese show I'm currently loving, its "The greatest love of all" shown on Mediacorp channel 8 at 9 pm... A show with a cast thats so great, packed with a really inspirational story of love, determination and trust. The plot on love is your normal kinda show, with a guy (Zhang Yaodong) liking a girl (Joanne Peh) but they dont get along at first, then as time passes on, they work together and eventually fall in love. Of course, there must be a climax somewhere, and its when Joanne Peh discovers she has a love rival who goes all out to steal her boyfriend away from her..

As for the inspirational part, its that both the characters of Joanne Peh and Zhang Yaodong play the role of social workers at a school for the disabled. Throughout the process of this show, there has been many of them.. Eg. A girl with low IQ, a girl with authism, a boy whose deaf-mute but has an artistic talent, a boy whose spinal injury left him wheelchair bound and lots more... Through this show, we see how society treats such children and we feel and sympathize with them for being able to go through such hardship in an optimistic manner. Watching this show, a normal individual would be ashamed of himself if he were to look at those children, cause though they are not 'normal' they go all out to live life to the fullest. They are determined, and whats most important, they are kind hearted people who will do their best to help someone.... Now, we, the supposed normal people, do we actually think this way? We give up, we fight, we are discouraged when problems come by, and worst of all, some of us actually look down on these children (Its shown in the show too) Now... reflect...reflect....

ahh, i simply love chinese shows... =)

Rod Monteiro, Carrie Chong and creative producer Don Richmond quit radio

DJ Carrie Chong and senior creative producer/musician Don Richmond, both from radio station 987, have left MediaCorp Radio.
And former Class 95 DJ Rod Monteiro's last day is 26 Jun.
The 40-year-old tendered his resignation in December and is serving his six months' notice.
During that period, he was removed from his weekday evening show which he co-hosted with Jean Danker and given weekend on-air duties on Gold 90.5.
There is talk that he may be joining Radio 91.3, but he insisted he 'hasn't signed anything yet'.
Although Rod acknowledged that his time at MediaCorp wasn't always 'hunky dory', he says he'll 'never leave radio'.
'It's my only source of income for the past 12 years, it's the only thing I know.
'But it will not been a silent hiatus, I'm planning something big,' he told The New Paper, but declined to reveal details.
He also denied that he quit because he couldn't get along professionally with Jean.

Meanwhile, Carrie, 30, chose not to renew her contract and left two weeks ago.
She had been with 987 for 10 years, three of which were on a part-time basis.
She said over the phone from Bangkok where she's currently holidaying that she 'left without a job'.
She insisted it was a 'personal decision' and that she was not unhappy with the company.
'I just felt it was time to move on to new challenges.
'Radio has been very good to me. I spent my best years in radio and I've done everything I set out to do. If I don't move on, I won't know what else I'd be good at out there.
'Right now, I'm taking an indefinite break and I'll see what comes my way.
'I want to get a diving certificate and learn Spanish or something, before the money in the bank runs out,' she joked.
Carrie added that she's 'open to anything' - except the media industry.
And no, she won't be joining the competition, even though she said she has had offers.
'My heart will always be with 987, so I don't see myself going anywhere else.'

Meanwhile, Don, 30, left a month ago after a three-year tenure - for 'selfish reasons'.
He said: 'My first love has always been doing music... I felt it was a good time to step out and start doing music again for myself and others.'
According to him, Bouncy Bouncy Smack Smack, the latest single from Don And Drew (the novelty singing duo comprising Don and Andrew Crothers), is 'doing well' on radio.
Don is also producing local rap group Bona Fide Vintage Flavour's album, due in August, and is also hoping to release his new solo album by year end.

'I left on a good note. My father (Brian), brother (Mark) and girlfriend (Jean Danker) are all in radio, so I'm tied to it somehow. Never say never.'
In March, radio veteran Bernard Lim, 38, who was MediaCorp's general manager of English programming, also packed up after 15 years in the firm. He expressed pity about the recent exodus of 'bright talents'.
He said: 'It saddens me because it's as if everything's crumbling. Any radio station would be affected by such a big departure.'

Hey aLL! back again to update... first and foremost, just wanna say this: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY IRNA!! whee my fellow ex-EXCO member turned 17 really recently, and I couldnt be there, or online to wish u happy birthday so here i am... So its been a week ever since Carrie Chong quitted radio... Hmmm, its kinda hard to believe she did, but yea thats reality... I really miss her on air laa.. haha! Cause i've been listening to her ever since sec 2 and during say it with music, i used to call her all the time and just have a nice chat... Last I chatted with her was during my JC council election period and she encouraged me on to try my best to get elected into the council... haha! She told me to follow up and call her soon to tell her how it went, but I never got the chance to since she suddenly left radio...

It was really shocking at first, but hey i admire her courage to leave something she loves doing in order to venture out into another area *I dont really know where actually* .... Its weird, on that day though I was really busy i just had the urge to listen in, so when i listened in, that was what I got.. so much for instincts ehh? haha...

Hmm, its okay la, I just hope she succeeds in whatever she decides to do :) Also, i sure hope that wont be the last time I ever hear of her or speak to her....

Hey all!

Im really goinna catch up on ugly betty and heroes oncline once the holidays officially start next thursday... HAHAA! I've been skipping those shows like crazy over the last two months and I feel that I NEED TO KNOW the story plot or I'll die or something... =p

Yep, holidays have begun unofficially since I have holiday lectures next week.. e name sounds nice right? Holiday lecture.... its exactly the same as a normal school day! how can it be nice??? =

Yesterday was gp seminar and we were supposed to go for two sessions out of a possible 6.. I WAS SO MAD I chose the wrong one.. HAHA! my friend wanted to go for the art talk so we went there.. actually it was quite nice la, it was on graffiti and whether it should be labelled art or crime.. not bad, but my other friends went for nicer ones, like watching CSI and learning about the velocity of blood and its concentration and all.. so cool!

The second seminar.... it was called chemicals in crime and punishment... sounds nice enough? yea we were deceived enough by the name, thinking it was something cool only to find out the whole lecture was on the types of chemicals in crime and punishment via the showing of chemical structures... *yawns* and my other friends gotta watch gory stuff on true files as well as war crimes... AAHH! haha nvm i'll pick better ones next year =)

Today was GP examination, and well, it was okay laa... questions were relatively challenging, but there was this really cute question on whether homework does harm to us.. HAHA needless to say, lots did that topic... I didnt choose that one though, I chose this topic called "A world without science is an ideal world. Discuss" COOL rite?? That topic was soo cool but hmm, though I wrote on it, I have my doubts on even passing since I dunno if my points were sufficient and mature enough.. PLUS I DIDNT DEFINE THE MEANING OF IDEAL!! ideal should be pretty straightforward enough not to define it right?? oh welll.... I just hope I pass it.... and learn from my mistakes so as not to repeat it in the promos!

Today was a very tiring day in school indeed... Felt like sleeping during chem *I never got chem anyway* Soo yea, i really have gotta buck up for my chem, and physics! I dont wanna fail mid years... NOO i dont! hahaa... and PW, dont mention it, the two letters I hate so far, P and W... URGH!

Not many things have been happening lately, just that now as I am into my fifth month in JC, i start looking back and comparing things... I know, its not nice to compare, but thats what u get when you start a whole new chapter in your life...

I look back into the days when I was in pioneer JC, how I miss the people there, the really friendly people who made me feel a part of their family though I was there for only less than three months *YES!* I relate to the words of the creed, and I feel proud to acknowledge that I was previously from that school *Once a pioneer, always a pioneer!* I miss the seniors there, the really nice and friendly seniors who didnt have a problem blending and mixing with the J1s, something I cant really account for where I am now... I miss the friends, the council, the SCAPPERS! yeaa i miss doing work with u guys, i remember how enthusiastic we all were doing the valentines day project and though it was my first project with you guys, you all made me love it soo much I didnt mind staying back to do it, I didnt mind being bombarded with council work, cause u guys were there for me whenever I needed u guys, spurring me on... I remember the SCAP day camp we attended, the day I started to really open myself up to u guys... and also, I miss the 7th students council in PJC... The seniors who were there, nurturing us with all they've got, taking us under their wings, yes I miss the 7th students council... I miss doing Sanctuary Duty with Fauziah, where we'll most likely end up talking lots of fun as well as listening to music... Not forgetting my dearest class 07S25, the people who ive been with for three months, u guys rock!!! and finally my dearest orientation group, SQUAD 21 NATHAN!!! I miss those days seriously, i want them back....

I look back into the days where I was back as a secondary school student... I miss the people i've been with, the people I'm familiar with... and if there's gotta be something I would like to remember most about my secondary school life, it would have to be the challenge I set for myself, the challenge I achieved! To do well for my O's, and to serve the school as a councillor... I miss those times with the Students Council in BP, those precious laughs and memories and hard work and tears we all went through ... I miss the EXCOs, the people i've worked with, the people who have shaped me into who I am today... Planning, taking down minutes, it was all so fun, why does it have to end this way??? I miss the students council In BP, for u guys too have made me feel a sense of belonging to the council family in BP.... *EHH LETS HAVE A COUNCIL REUNION SOMEDAY!! When's BP council farewell party? I WANNA GO BACK! =D )

I'm still waiting for the time I'll feel accepted, I'm still waiting for the time I can proudly proclaim I feel a sense of belonging into this new family... I cant say it now, for I've not felt that way as of now... The only thing I feel a part of here, is my class, my lovely class 0706, u guys ROCK!!! :)

WOOHOO! im done reminiscing.... its fun and nice to look back on the past isnt it? It just gives u a sense of calmness and happiness doing that, of course u look at the good things lah! hahaaa...

Hello theree guys!

On an early monday morning at 841 am I'm updating my blog! woohoo, school starts late today, thats great to start the day with! =)

Anyways, as promised, updates on the debate... E motion was "This house believes that the music industry will suffer with the prosecution of P2P platforms" and we were sadly, in the proposition...

Haha so as expected, not many points we could come up with, and though our rebuttals were strong, our weak points caused us to lose the debate.. Mmm, never mind lah... haha at least we managed to emerge runner ups and win our house 50 points =)

As for my performance, i dunno if its just me but I thought i was rather nervous... Mmm, some words simply couldnt come into my mind the moment I wanted them and my points were rather inpromptu though I had notes in front of me haha... I thought there were at least two other better speakers than me for the simple fact that they talked well and were from debate, but guess what...

I GOT BEST SPEAKER!!! Hahaa... very unexpected, i was packing my bag whilst preparing for my GP test and as they announced the result, i told my friend i could confirm it was one of the opposition speaker fro m debate but when the teachers announced my name, i was honestly speechless!

But nontheless, I'll have fun spending my $20 Kinokuniya voucher! yippie! =)

One more debate up this week, i dunno if i will be representing my house in this but the motion is "This house believes that inefficient formal education is the main cause for juvenile crime" Mmm, i might have something one but I sure hope I'll be free on that day...

Schools getting tiring, I'm rather OK with my maths, physics is alright, but chem.... Somehow I never seem to get the stuff into my head... Flunked my chem test, and I'm REALLY DETERMINED to do well for midyears, soo yea I've gotta try to understand the concepts

No way am I goinna retain J1 ... J1 itself is such a painful process...
Hehe, just like I've year 2 poly friends who feel the same way regarding year 2 =P

Oookay, thats all i guess, maths is starting in 6 minutes, so rush rush for maths!

Food for thought, whats the use of doing something when you do not enjoy it? Whats the use of doing something when its different from what you expected to do? Whats the use of doing something when you get no satisfaction from it?

HELLO GUYS!

Im on a high right now, for a while at least, since when I reported for lit class, the sign on the door stated "Lit class cancelled" WOOOHOOO! and our econs counterparts are taking econs test now... hahaha thank god i dropped econs =)

Soo anyway, yeaa i realize ive been down this whole week... the realization is getting to me, and i still find it hard to accept the fact that ************ but well, life goes on... hehe, its just so hard to leave something, to stop doing something you've been doing almost two years of your life, not be able to do something you've been doing for years, there's just this withdrawal symptom that tells me that I SHOULD be doing this kinda job....

Hehe some of you probably know what im referring to, and anyway, this whole post is inspired by Azhar... I read through his blog, and well his latest entry was so very true. in fact, i agreed with the factors mentioned on his blog alot...

I will do some reflections later kay?? hehe im in school now, and my friend said my entry too long already =P Wokie dokie, gtg now! Its rare im this sad, but yea this is one of the rare cases...
Its ok, i promise I'll be cheerful and CHEERFUL and VERY CHEERFUL real soon! hehe..

Heyy guys! Just to answer queries, haha it was somewhat like a bodyguard but not exactly one since we just hadda make sure we move people in the way and make sure people do not cross the path of the VIP... kinda cool job for me,since its the first time im attempting such a thing... :)

Anyway, just a few questions that have been lingering in my mind these past few days...

Its good to have goals and dreams to work towards, but what if you dont achieve them and they become dashed?

Its good to be ambitious, but what if you do not get what you want?

They say a failure is meant to make you come back stronger, but what happens if you experience two failures at one go??

hello guys!! Its been quite a while since I last updated properly... wow its been a busy busy month, and im panicking, well, because I'm afraid of the upcoming mid years in July as well as failing my promos... I think the teachers did a great job at scaring us... hehE!

now in school, right after doing my chemistry homework, and yeaa thought it would be nice to update this blog of mine... haha!! Anyway, its presidential elections, so all the best yeaa to all 4 candidates running for post of president of the 30th students council??? =) i have chosen my choice, and it is..

HEY GUYS! Im back, after leaving my blog stagnant for almost one week... haha! Sorry yea, its been a busy busy week, and JC life is taking its toll on me *And its ONLY the beginning, urgh* Well, to begin with, lots of homework to complete and also, its time I started to read up on my subject content... Nothing has been going into my mind lately, and with the exception of maths and literature, the rest of the subjects i need lots of catching up!!

Physics reminds me of going psycho.... and chemisty... Chem is history!

okay nvm... back to what I wanna say, its been a long week especially that of campaigning and elections for council term and I certainly do hope I get in, but I'm just puzzled at the reaction and mindset of some people...

Some say that councillors are attention seekers, and these people treat campaigning as a joke, that council nominees use campaigning as a means of making a fool of ourselves and having fun...

Well well, I thought such a mindset only existed in secondary school *Yes lots of it! in fact councillors were kinda hated back then* but apparently not, and councillors are still kinda hated in JC for WHAT reason I also dunno.... haish, to think this is the maturity level of some people...

On a lighter note, ive not introduced my class to u guys have I? SO here u go! :)

WOOHOO! 0706 ROCKS!! haha, my class is one multiracial class, and INDEED WE ARE! chinese, malay, indian, half chinese half malay, half chinese half indian, indonesians, singaporeans, china-ians, hongkongians, We've got them all! =) cool? haha...

And what I like most about my class is that we know when to play and when to study! And also, my class is filled with really fun people who will always care about u and will always try to cheer u up when u need it....

Haha, well, at least I've got inspiration to study... I wanna be with my class next year, not with some other class where I dunno the people *Get what I mean? =P *

Soo, ZULHAFIZ ZAINAL, YOU HAD BETTER WORK HARD FOR UR PROMOS, and strive hard to achieve the best results for ur subjects especially chemistry and physics.. do ur homework and ASK when in doubt, so hopefully u can once again be with ur class for next year...

And I dont care what others say, If i get into council, im going all out, of course with a balance between council and school, but I'll devote my time and spirit for council for that is where I feel I belong and fit in... I'll make sure I perform to the best of my abilities and hopefully, people out there will change their mindset about the students council... For all u know, we'll make them LIKE us!

helloo guyS! its been quite a while since I last blogged... Today was bad, seriously bad i think...

I left home at 6.20 am, wanting to reach school at 7 am for reporting since I was goinna be introduced to the whole school for council, and GUESS WHAT? an IRRITATING JAM was up at ang mo kio MRT station thanks to the many cars and buses and I was late for school....

WAHH! WHO IN THE WORLD GETS LATE FOR SCHOOL WHEN HE LEAVES ONE HOUR 20 MINUTES BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS???

me....

ok nvm, so i lost my chances of being introduced to the school... dont get me wrong, its not that i am attention seeking or so, just I saw it as a revenue for the school to know me since I needed to stand up to them and ask them to vote for me if I wanna be in council..

well, one opportunity down, so i definitely hope i'll be able to catch up in the other aspects so the school will notice me and hopefully vote me into the council..

Its step one in getting to council, and I hope i pass that step... =)

by the way, CHEMISTRY IS NOT EASY! I cant grasp the concepts... grrr...

woo, going for choir concert tomorrow!~

HELLOO GUYS!! whee i am finally back =) =) And YES! do u know what this means?? the fact that I'm here now blogging means .... I SURVIVED! Three cheers for meee.... yeaa it has been a long tiring three days, but for the sake of my readers who wanna know the teeny weeny details of the camp, here I go!!

Day 1 (Friday/ 6 April 2007)

We reported for camp at 3 pm sharp. The moment we arrived, we were asked to put our hands up and there was an immediate attire check.. a number of nominees got pulled out for their attire which is either inappropriate or untucked, and for that, we had to start the day with 20 push ups... Then we were told of the importance of attire etc. and they told us to break into girls and boys given a really limited number of time (10 seconds?) to grab our bags and move to one side for bag inspection.. Procedures, we had to put all our things out, and PUT THEM IN AN ORDERLY STANDARDIZED MANNER! meaning bottles to our left, toiletries to e right, clothes to the middle etc. and so many other stuff, so needless to say, OF COURSE we couldnt meet the task requirement, thats plain hard to do, and we were given another asked to do another 20 push ups!! then later on we had to fall in with the girls and were scolded for not asking permission, and after falling in, they told us our bunks and WE HAD TO RUN there... then we were scolded for being late, and another 20 push ups, and finally we had to ask for permission to enter bunks but the boys and girls werent uniform in asking, so another 15, that makes 75 and two hours just simply doing ALL THAT!

The rest of the day was spent playing games (Some games are not bad, ur usual games, while some games, arent really games and are more of PT.. haha.. So that wasnt that bad, and we werent scolded much, just again we were forced to do push ups during that duration for no sense of urgency...

We were then asked to report to the hall, where the DMs told us our mistakes for the day and punished us for all the mistakes that we made by doing crunches, jumping jacks, push ups etc. and after that they told us to go sleep... (thats at 12 am)

At 1.45 am sharp, there was LOTS of screaming and all, calling us to wake up, scolding us and telling us to report... wahh so can u imagine less than 2 hours of sleeP? well, it was the confidence walk test for all of us and we were directed to a room where we had to wait for our turn BUT couldnt sleep... We were then scolded for lack of speed and some had no whistles, so we had to do 60 push ups.. luckily we helped one another when some of us had no ponchos so the push ups were cancelled out... I had to wait 2 LONG HOURS without sleep for my turn, and it was hard and i kept almost dozing off if not for my partner who woke me up once just to save me from drifting to dreamland... hehe.. night walk was called the confidence walk, and i kinda enjoyed it so to speak.. we had to walk round the whole school following lightsticks to our route for different stations... thank god there were no 'fake ghosts' or anything.. in fact, through that walk i kinda felt a sense of belonging to the school! Yippie! it was fun exploring school at night, and I definitely dared to do it as usual, but if u asked me to do it at BP (BOTH CAMPUSES) noo i'll feel kinda scared doing it alone.. u know how creepy the BP site is (Both campuses) hehe... nanyang JC on the other hand is less dark and more open spaced soo yea... but anyway, the most of the walk was just a walk round the school, with the exception to the walk to the LT 4, the BIGGEST LT in nanyang JC!! the moment i walked in, darkness filled in and i was creeped out by the huge place with just my torch, but what was eerie about it was that some chinese music was being played, something lik e"Come back to me" or so.. it was an opera song, REALLY CREEPY!! and i hadda go behind the stage myself, and much to my horror there was this staircase i never knew existed which i climbed before I reached the top to see two guys asking me to choose between heaven and hell...

I thought it was kinda reverse psychology that people will choose hell, cause most likely hell will be the easier one, so i chose heaven, but no difference at all... just the cards we collected were different... that was abt the most climatic of the walk.. following that we played this memory game where two cards have to be opened and they had to have the same number, and we played it with 450 cards!!! we asked for 20 mins but mmm, couldnt finish it in an hour even... haha! Went back to sleep at 5.55 am

Day 2 (saturday / 7 April 2007)

Woke up at 6.25 am.. apparently half an hour of sleep... we were brought down to do PT, and also courage call where we had to shout out commands... our instructor punished those who didnt volunteer in the end, but thanks to the "One for all rule" all had to do the punishment, comprising of 20 push ups... After breakfast, we were told we were goinna play a game... sounds fun?? well,at least we thought so till we attempted the whole thing.. We had to complete 5 tasks within two hours and the tasks??

1) Its the A Levels and students want to take the exams. Rearrange the I-Space (A type of room) byshifting the tables and arranging 120 chairs and tables for the students...

We did this quite well, and were quite satisfied, till after the whole thing, it was annonounced there was a change in plan and that students had to take it somewhere else, so we had to re-stack the tables and chairs to their original state before carrying 125 chairs to the atrium ( area near parade square)

2) Its teachers day and you have to organize chairs for teachers to sit in the parade square.. Make sure seats are shaded, comfortable and teachers shd be able to receive presents form students easily..

We did this in 15 mins, and after arranging ALL the chairs, we were asked to stack them back in the end and bring them back to the I-Space ... WAH!

3) Countdown to new year in NYJC and you are required to hang the banners given a limited amount of resources...

Sounds kinda easy, till we realized the banner was torn and that we had to retrieve glue and stapler from the sirs and madams... they were quite mad we werent organized, so we were scolded at the end...

4) Logistics in councillors room need to be organized and we have to pack the ponchos, fold ground sheets as well as other stuff...

Nothing so challenging abt that, but packing the ponchos were quite hard, and we were scolded for not doing a good job at that..

Thats it,we didnt complete our 5th task due to lack of time, and we were asked to fall in time and again for almost 5 to 6 times before lunch! Tiring!!! After lunch, it was this spider web game before I left for my madrasah...

Day 3 ( Sunday/ 8 April)

I reported back to school being greeted with sour faces by the nominees and I understand they ahd to wake up in the middle of the night and were screamed at to do this thing called the inspection drill, where we had to separate our bottles, torches, toiletries. bags etc. to different areas and report to the stationmasters with ALL those items from each and every nominee and place them for mass inspection... Thing is, we were given 11 minutes and we had to complete 6 stations i think, all of the nominees taking a different station,and the hard thing was we had to ask for permission lots of times and safeguard all belongings cause the councillors can come by either to steal them or throw them in the air.. it was chaotic, and they did it for 3 hours, though they didnt complete it... it was really the worst of all exercises...

So i thought i missed the worst of it all, till they announced that we were doing it AGAIN for the day, and I participated in over 2 or 3 failed attempts and LOTS of scoldings and push ups in a period of 2 hours, not to mention the scoldings from the teachers, till we FINALLY managed at the 8th attempt inclusive of the previous night... wow now i felt how tiring it was to do such a thing!! IT was simply horrible to do so...

Hehe soo yea, thats great training for NS i guess... I missed out quite alot of details cause there's simply too many to remember and write down for if i did this entry will drag on even longer and longer .. and my brother is like asking for the com so yea must cut down...

Anyways, its been a great great experience nontheless, and though i felt it was beneficial for me, it falls under my "its-great-t0-experience-it-once-only" category... hehe! =) Before I leave, just to say, this camp was not all tekan however... we did have fun and laughter, and though this is honestly outweighted by ALL those punishments and frustrating moments, i just wanna say i enjoyed myself getting the feel of this camp...

I MISS THE TOUGH PE'S!! =( For PE today, all we did was sit ups, and we were given a briefing for our first two NAPFA stations, sit ups and standing broad jumps.. it seems I've gotta buck up on my standing broad jump! everytime fail... hehe, and also i learnt tips to develop arm muscles so i can finally do my target of one pull up... =) Well, tip is, to do the monkey bar, and at every handle u try to pull urself up...

and also, I TOOK MY HEIGHT AND WEIGHT!! =) Lets make a comparison...

YAYNESS! :) Still, i feel i can lose more fats and gain more muscles... wahaha! GYM training, coming up soon... Okok, back to the topic, played soccer with the malay guys after that and it was fun!! though tiring... hehe i think i prespired more during soccer than during PE itself... its a fact!

Anyway, touching on the topic of PE, it brings me to the topic of academics... I'm barely one month into JC life proper, taking Maths, physics, chem and lit, and i must say that... I'm still helpless and lost (REALLY!) when it comes to chemistry.... well, a bold move i took, taking chemistry at H2 level though i didnt take it during my first three months, and now its taking its toll on me... i need help, and its time i started doing and buying assesments! better do something now before its too late in two or three more months, thats my advice to u guys =)

In terms of physics, im okay with it, and for maths, well some im ok while some, im totally blurrr... Hmm, lets just say the JC system is A WHOLE LOT more different than secondary school system... everything, from the study system to the council to the environment to the everything!! It takes lots of determination, hardwork, perseverence, and a drive to succeed in order to get past JC life... *I'm scared of retaining!!*

Soo yea, whilst in school waiting for my dad, here i am blogging cause once i get home, its down to my Maths tutorials 3A,3B,4... my physics, revision, my chem, CATCHING UP and reading the points cause during chem i didnt understand a single thing... and finally my PI piece for project work...

Hmm, i think I can get all that done.. all it takes is for me to spend the whole night studying and revising and sitting by my com doing the PI... neglect everything else, TV, rest, sleeping, thats all! its easy aint it?? =(

then if that is the case... NO IM NEVER GOINNA GET THEM DONE ON TIME...

Hidayah: Helloo hidayah! yea i do hope my fitness training will have an impact on my physique... Its not a matter of looking good, really, i just want to get that ONE pull up, and i can slowly proceed from there... hehe till i do that one pull of miracle, im not satisfied! Have u ever thought what life will be like without a loved one? Having him away for more than 7 months thinking of him, whether he's ok, whether he's dead or so... This video on youtube touched me, for the simple fact of the emotional rollercoaster and mental challenges a 6-year kid had to go through for 7 whole months, till finally he reunited with his dad.. its sad and touching, honestly... watch it... hopefully with the aid of this news piece, it has helped us reflect upon ourselves, as well as changed our mindsets on certain things or people we take granted for..

Ookay, just came back from the Council Pre-Camp Briefing, and it was an out of this world experience I think... Umm, well, not so positive after all.. and it was literally out of this world

I expected council camp to be somewhat leisure where u get to know ur friends and seniors from council and interact with them so as to enable you to perform better in council. I expected workshops that will enable us to become better leaders who could get ready for elections, but guess what I got...

A military style camp...

Yes and I'm not kidding! The moment we were asked into the lecture theatre, we took 2 mins 40 seconds to settle down, and we were told that that was the time we took to settle down..

Nothing much of it we thought about, until camp briefing started proper.

Basically they showed us the slides and we had to copy it down real fast cause they didnt wait for us. Then somewhere into the briefing, we were screamed at by one of the councillors, asking us to SIT STRAIGHT and PLEASE STAND UP WHEN ASKING QUESTIONS... following that, we didnt think much when they asked us questions, and they screamed at us again, asking us to address them as (their name) sir or madam... so we have to like, memorize their names ALL by council camp...

Then we hadda do this spot check and SUDDENLY one of the people asked us to queue in lines so they could check our attire... this was followed by another screaming telling us we had 30 seconds to move out from the LT for... guess what... 30 push ups.. yep u heard me right! 10 push ups for one minute we were late...

WOAH! and this is just pre camp briefing u know.. we havent even gone in proper, and we were warned that for any mistake we make, there WILL be punishment

"We're not here to entertain you, this is a training camp!"

Well well, coincides with my fitness programme, BUT not this rigorous... am i up for it?

Helloo there guys!!

Hehe currently in school now! Since I've got extra time off while waiting for my council briefing, so here I am blogging! Quite time saving ehh? So i don't have to update once I reach home, where I'll most probably be tired or doing tutorials... =) Ohh btw, IM IN THE COUNCIL ELECTIONS!! Woohoo, whilst I am happy that I got in, I'm not excited about elections at all.. wahh i have to do things like, make posters of myself and paste them around school?? or maybe give out brochures about myself?? Wahh kinda thick skinned, but anything to join the council!!

I'm a lil disadvantaged since I'm in the second intake and do not know the people in the council or school as much as those who have been here, so I have to start from scratch whilst they are already at an advantage... soo, I doubt people who do not know me will vote for me, so maybe I might not get in after all... hopefully that isnt the case.. But even if I do get in, will i get to serve a post like what I used to do back in secondary school? chances are... people in the three months will be given the job since they are already known for their capability while I have to start from proving my worth to them...

Hmm... ok so i also was looking forward to council camp, but what i heard abt it wasnt so nice after all.. I heard the seniors will TORTURE us and make it VERY physical, from what my friend told me, it'll be as physical as how mentally challenging council is... and u know how mentally challenging council is ain't I right?? haha...

Ookay, I've gotta go now, but before I go, some food for thought... was attending reading period lesson just now and I never ever thought of it until the realization hit me whilst doing my reflection... The question?

Facts have been proven, and it has been shown that countries with more religious people encounter way more problem than those secular countries... Well, according to the hypothesis, if religious people are really well behaved, then "the US will be heaven on earth and Britain will be filled with crime and problems" as stated by the article...

Okay, so my previous post got people talkin... The girls were generally like: "Why do you even bother posting such a thing?" and the guys, as expected, started admiring the muscle man and reflecting upon their fitness... hehe, just, what am i trying to bring across is, though we all live in the 21st century, it is observed that stereotypes do exist and will always continue to exist... Girls, it'll be fashion and their looks, whilst for the guys, its more of muscles and physical features... Well well, i've proven my point!

Haha... Currently I'm making it a point to run after school at least 1 km to prepare for the upcoming race... just for those of u who dunno, i'm one of the runners running one kilometre in an inter-class/JC1 competition ... well, i could have picked the other two events like canoeing or frisbee but nahh, i decided its time to test my endurance and fitness level too see if I've got what it takes in terms of endurance and stamina... hehe, Also i am making an attempt to improve on my arm power and body by doing daily exercises and arm training to build up muscles on those areas.. i do hope results would appear soon, though i read that some people will NEVER gain such bulky muscles or six-pecs no matter how much they tried as they're born that way... boy, if it were true, I surely hope i'm not one of em... hehe, i've alraedy got my short height to deal witH!!

(Anyway, just to acknowledge, thanks Jin Zhe for the website and the encouragement =D it has helped me a GREAT deal)

Soo, as for school, i guess I'm coping well... For maths, its not bad, i can keep up with the pace, for physics, its mostly ok, except for the measurements, that one i have a headache trying to understand... but for chem, I'm totally lost! and it doesnt help that u have notes which are complexed and difficult to understand...

Ohh,also, i've signed up for council yet again... at first i tried out tennis but was rejected cause I'm not a professional, and I did try ODAC but the training proved to be tough and disasterous, so I think council it is for me.. I've already been shortlisted as one to go through the interview and the interview was kinda ok today, though the atmpshere was so tensed up!!

Seriously, there was only ONE fan in the room, and under normal circumstances i would be really hot, but in this case I was so cold my teeth were chattering!! Some questions I did ok, whilst some questions i didnt really know how to deal with, but I do hope its ok overall.. tomorrow will be results so wish me luck!

and if i were to get shorlisted for second round, thats where campaigning starts... hmm, i dunno abt it, and i feel i do not have what it takes to be elected through campaigning ... its something like presidential elections where u go around asking people to vote for u, but then, I feel its a popularity contest and Hmm, my chances? I dunno, but im not so confident about it.. Plus, i wasnt in NYJC for three months, so definitely i'll know lesser people than some other candidates... well well, that can wait! as of now, at least i do hope i made it past the interview round..

Soo if i dont get council as my CCA, most likely i'll take ur sports *YES u heard me right* maybe odac, floorball or so la.. haha there's still room for u to learn new stuff am i right?? =)

I am learning how to play the piano MYSELF! well,some songs, from youtube that is... ITS HARD! especially when u have to play with two hands... at a ripe old age of 17, when I take this new activity out,my right and left brain simply refuses to work together! They are enemies i guess =So now i'm playing with only one hand, to get the tune right at least =)

As of now,i can play the tune of the PJC schoolsong! as well as a bit of unfaithful by rihanna...

HEY GUYS! Today i'm goinna talk abt one more issue that struck me whilst reading the papers..NS! I know, im only 17 and some of u guys think i need a BREAK from thinking too far, but hey isnt it better to think ahead? haha... Hot topic for now, it actually came out in the Sunday Times: IPPT, do some of these stations REALLY judge our fitness level? Well, just in case you dunno, IPPT is the Individual Physical Proficiency Test guys have to take whilst in NS, its somewhat similar to your NAPHA test...

Well, this is the fitness test stations:

1. Sit-Up
Abdominal muscular strength and endurance

2. Standing Broad Jump
Lower limbs extensor muscular power

3.Chin-Up
Upper limbs muscular strength and endurance

4. 4 X 10m Shuttle Run
General speed, agility and co-ordination

5. 2.4km Run
Cardio-respiratory endurance and lower limbs muscular endurance

Now now, the main issue, it is agreed upon that those stations IN DEED measure our fitness level EXCEPT the standing broad jump station... Yea, cause there was this guy who was physically fit and passed everything WELL except standing broad jump due to his short height and he failed, thus making him complain to the government on this policy...

Hmm well in my opinion, I am goinna have to support him! hehe i myself have problems even PASSING the standing broad jump despite jumping almost 200 cm... wahh don't they have mercy at all for short people like me??

Well well, u wanna test the abs, sit ups it is... flexibility? sit and reach ... leg power and endurance, we ALREADY have the shuttle run and 2.4 km run... surely we don't need the standing broad jump to determine the leg power factor... I think its a little bit unfair!! =

I cannot do the chin ups too thanks to my weak arms, but i'll never give up and will continue to do so cause I believe in trying my best even if i dun make it... but standing broad jump?? i practically lost hope for even passing this factor, let alone the IPPT!

Haha, its somewhat like a student who goes for tuition and tries his best to study a certain subject but still fails .. yea, thats the case for me for standing broad jump as well as my chin ups! As said by an expert: "Some try their best BUt still cannot achieve their goal, and this is when they have to accept the fact, maybe they arent born to excel in it" Ohh, dont tell me I'm the one whose fated NOT to excel in sports and chin ups and standing broad jumps...

URGH! Forgive me, im now MUSCLE OBSESSED!

I WANT THOSE BICEPS AND THAT BODY! I WANNA BE FIT!! =

Laugh at me all you want, but I won't fall, i'll try to achieve my goal! and even if I DO NOT get that kinda figue ( I dun think I will, but i'll try) I just wanna be fitter and healthier than myself now, and lose those fats on me first... hehe...
